Google’s AI Mode expands globally, adds new agentic features

On Thursday, Google revealed that AI Mode, which allows in-depth Q&A directly within Search, is expanding worldwide. The feature now includes enhanced agentic and personalized capabilities.
AI Mode will be available in English in 180 new countries, having previously served users only in the U.S., U.K., and India, with future expansions to other languages and regions.
New agentic functions let users book restaurant reservations based on multiple criteria such as date, time, location, party size, and cuisine. AI Mode searches multiple platforms to provide real-time availability and curated recommendations.
Currently, this feature is accessible to U.S. Google AI Ultra subscribers via the “Agentic capabilities in AI Mode” experiment in Labs. Ultra is the company’s premium plan at $249.99 per month.
U.S. users will also benefit from personalized search results, initially focused on dining, using their past interactions in Search and Maps to suggest restaurants aligned with their preferences.
Additionally, a new “Share” button allows users to send AI Mode responses to others, making collaborative planning for trips or events easier.
