US-based cybersecurity leader Palo Alto Networks is in negotiations to buy CyberArk Software, an Israeli IT security company, in a deal valued at over $20 billion, according to reports. Such a transaction would be the largest in Palo Alto Networks’ corporate history.
The Wall Street Journal reports, citing unnamed insiders, that the agreement could be finalized within days. This acquisition would further Palo Alto Networks’ strategy of expanding its capabilities to address complex, AI-driven cyber threats.
CyberArk’s strengths in identity security and privileged access management would complement Palo Alto Networks’ portfolio, enhancing its ability to deliver end-to-end protection.
The talks come shortly after Palo Alto Networks closed its purchase of Protect AI, integrating the startup’s technology into its Prisma AIRS platform to bolster security for AI systems across multiple sectors.
